滅火器的〈島嶼天光搖滾版〉，昨擊敗張學友〈用餘生去愛〉、張惠妹〈偏執面〉等強敵，成為年度歌曲，是他們成軍15年的首座金曲獎，團長楊大正說：「不可思議，我開始喜歡流行音樂是因為張學友。」原本對得獎抱平常心，但知道頒獎人是「女神」莫文蔚，就一定要得獎。

他謙虛說：「這首歌不見得比其他作品好，卻是大家去年的共同記憶。」把獎獻給太陽花學運期間，在現場、電腦前關注的人：「這首歌不僅代表滅火器，也代表這個世代的覺醒，希望每個台灣人迎接島嶼天光。」感謝邀請他們寫這首歌的北藝大同學。

鼓手吳迪笑說去年趕著混音，花200元請計程車司機幫他送存有歌曲的USB，「謝謝你沒把我USB拿走，才有這首歌。」蔡依林的〈PLAY我呸〉雖落敗，聽到這段話卻在台下拍手，笑得很開心。
